New Enhancements!

We are pleased to announce the Sacramento Bee has become our newest subscriber to MetroList's Internet Newspaper Smart framing Service(INSFS). INSFS replaces a previous agreement with the Bee that required MetroList to redirect internet traffic from metrolistmls.com to sacbee.com and designate them as the exclusive provider of MetroList content in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Yolo Counties (effective 4/2/07).

As the region's OFFICIAL MLS Website, metrolistmls.com will continue to deliver the most up-to-date and complete listings of Northern California's Central Valley real estate. And, in the coming months, MetroList will be introducing a Website redesign, new features and other navigational improvements.

The map does not work, when I click on the map nothing happens.

The problem may be that you are using an old version of Netscape. We have done extensive development and testing to make our site compatible with Netscape 4.x. However, due to issue within Netscape, you will have to reload the map frame.

To reload map, Right click on map and select "Reload frame".

We understand this is time consuming and cumbersome, if you prefer to use Netscape, download the latest version from their site.

Tell me about cookies.

Cookies were invented in the early days of web browsing to enable a website application to keep track of each user. A cookie is simply a small bit of data, usually a number or a code, that a web page or web server asks your browser to store. Usually, as in our case, this bit of data is a unique number or code that identifies you as opposed to someone else. In this way, this web server can keep track of your search criteria, and your search results.

This server does not know anything about your identity, such as your name or address, since we have not asked you for it, and you have not provided it. Similarly, your browser will not provide any information about your hard drive or its contents. The cookie that we use simply holds a unique code that we associate with your search criteria. After 5 hours of no activity on our site your cookie will time out. Then you will be treated as a new visitor, and you will have to reenter your search criteria to do a property search.

In short, turning on cookies does not reduce your privacy. It merely helps a website serve you in accordance with your previous requests. This website will not function properly for you if you have cookies disabled in your browser. If you want to turn on cookies in your browser, see our instructions.

When are the properties updated and how often?

We update property data hourly and photos every two hours

How long does it take for a photo to appear for my property?

It can take about 7-10 days for a photo to be added to a new property.

There is no photo for my property, what can I do?

If your property has been listed for more than two weeks, contact your listing agent and/or broker. They are able to find out why it is missing and have it corrected.

How many photos are displayed for my property?

Your agent and/or broker can submit up to 12 photos of your property. All 12 photos are available for viewing by agents on other private sites.  The first photo is provided by MetroList, any additional photos or replacement of the first photo can be submitted by the Agent.

What geographic areas does MetroList cover?

We cover the following counties: Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, El Dorado, Stanislaus, San Joaquin, and the Los Banos area of Merced county.

Why can’t I find my property?

Often times it may take 3-4 business days from the day you list with an agent for your property to appear on this site. If the property does not show up after that length of time, contact your listing agent and/or broker. They will be able to find out why it is not appearing and correct it.

Who do I contact about incorrect/missing data on my property?

If you find any errors or incorrect data on your property, please contact your listing agent and/or broker. They are able to modify the information in the main MLS computer system. When that is complete the data will propagate from that system (Prospector) to this website and others.

Can I put a For Sale By Owner property on MetroList?

There are special agents that, for a fee, will list a For Sale By Owner (FSBO) property and let you manage the rest of the sale. It is required that you use one of these agents because only licensed broker and their agents can input properties into the system.

How do I search for Condos?

To search for Condos, simply select "Single Family Homes" and when you get to the criteria screen, select "Advanced" then select "Condo" from the Type drop down list.

What is a Limited Service or MLS Only listing?

Limited Service or MLS Only Listings indicate that the listing broker will provide limited or none of certain customary services. Click here for full details.

If you are an agent:

How do I update my Agent or Office Information?

Agent and Office Information is updated from the user records in our main membership database.  This database is maintained by your local MetroList Administration Center.  If your information is wrong, please contact your local MetroList Administration Center and update your information with them.  This will then update your information on all of our other sites within 2-3 business days.
